Laundry Pods
While powdered or liquid detergents may be cheaper, it is much easier to distribute laundry pods to residents than to portion out liquid or powdered detergent. Many residents have difficultly lifting large, heavy bottles or boxes. Pods protect against over-pours which can result in dangerous spills and slick laundry room floors or even excess bubbles overflowing the washing machines. Experience has proven that laundry pods are the best for staff to distribute to residents and the best for residents to use. Any brand is acceptable.
Annual Use
36,000 laundry pods
7,200 zipper bags for portioning and distribution
Disinfectant Liquid
Disinfectant liquid is appropriately diluted then distributed ready-to-use in spray bottles to residents for cleaning their own apartments. Additionally, disinfectant liquid is used by staff in common areas for general cleaning. Simple Green or Lysol is preferred.
Annual Use
75 gallons of disinfectant liquid
50 spray bottles for portioning and distribution
Kitchen Trash Bags
Residents receive approximately two (2) 13-gallon kitchen trash bags per week. Any brand is acceptable.
Annual Use
7,800 kitchen trash bags
Liquid Dish Soap
Liquid dish soap is distributed to residents by the normal household bottle (approximately 28oz to 33oz). Any brand is acceptable.
NOTE: Regular dish soap, not dishwasher soap.
Annual Use
1,000 bottles of liquid dish soap
Toilet Paper
Toilet paper is used at the rate of approximately five (5) rolls per individual per month. Toilet paper is distributed to residents by the roll, usually in 5-roll increments. Any brand is acceptable, but the “double roll” type is preferred as the rolls last longer than the cheaper type.
Annual Use
6,500 rolls of toilet paper
Other Cleaning Supplies
Miscellaneous cleaning supplies are distributed to residents on an as-needed basis. Sponges with a scrubby side preferred. Any brands are acceptable. NOTE: Regular sponges, not “magic erasers.”
Annual Use
Cleaning Sponges: Approximately 1,000 per year
Disinfecting Wipes: Approximately 2,000 cannisters per year
Paper Towels: Approximately 2,500 rolls per year
